The Backseat Mujer

There is a highway that runs along one of the canals in Herber that is haunted. Some nights a woman hitchhiker asks for a ride to town. If you don't stop for her - "the Mujer" - will get a ride from you anyway and appear in your back-seat. As the story is told she was having a affair with a man in Calexico and wanted to get home before her husband did. She came to a sharp curve, went through a guardrail and drowned in the canal. There have been people that have picked her up and say that she is pretty and quite polite.
