Many drivers going down Kean Ave. have told about phantom animals that appear in the middle of the road and then just disappear. Usually it is the image of a horse. They all say the same thing, they look real but they appear and disappear without moving at all. For many years this was a dangerous road for riders to cross, no streetlights, speeding cars, and patches of fog. It is said that the ghostly horses are the spirits of animals and riders who were hit and killed by cars.

Kean Avenue is also a location of Resurrection Mary.

Kean Avenue is located in Palos Hills at the far edge of the Cook County Forest Preserve.
