"Rumor has it that many witched and devil worshippers migrated to this state during the witch trials taking place back east in the 1600s, mainly because of all the woods and hiding places here. In 1990 my friend and I began reading about devil worship and began hearing rumors about a road just outside Metamora calle Blood Road. They were frightening stories of how kids would drive down the road at night and winess trees following them, and of being chased by a truck with bright lights.
The first time we went down the road, it was just after midnight. We had the windows rolled down to see and hear better. About halfway down the road we began to notice that the road was wet, although it had not rained in days. The road began to wind, the trees thickened, then it seemed as if the road was sinking. The water on the road was increasing as we watched!
As the road slowly disappeared, we noticed that it was strange water, thick. We both opened the doors and saw that it was red in color. My buddy turned on his brights, and the whole road was covered in this blood-like substance. He turned the truck around and we began to leave, then we saw off in the distance a fire, with people in white robes standing around it chanting. As we kept driving we saw a few of them even run across the road. We got the hell out of there." ~Rypple.
