BLANK-FACED PHANTOM

The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall
"I'm just a ghost in this house
I'm shadow upon these walls,
As quietly as a mouse
I haunt these halls."

- Allison Krauss, Ghost in This House

Tale from Tha Gimp

"I live in Utah, not far from a town called Farmington. From time to time growing up, I would hear tales of a creature known as the Farmington Phantom, but I always brushed them off as the older kids just trying to spook us. In fact, by the time I had gotten a bit older, I had managed to forget about the old ghost story completely. I wish I had remembered it-then maybe I wouldn't have been so absolutely shocked by what I encountered for myself.

I was driving home and cutting through the east side of Farmington on my way. My car, being a little more that a hunk of rust on four wheels, broke down. I got out, cursing my luck, and went through my usual routine of banging on various things under the hood until it started up again.

As I leaned under the hood, I heard a vary distinct noise-the galloping of horse. It was rushing right toward me! I jumped up, nailed my head, and fell to the ground just in time to catch the fleeting image of a man on horseback rushing past me and disappearing.

Freakiest of all: The thing's face was blank. Needless to say, I shook off the hit to my noggin, fixed the car as fast as possible, and got the heck home.

Maybe I was just hearing and seeing things. Maybe I went a bit dilusional after slamming my head. Or maybe, just maybe, the Farmington Phantom is more real than I ever believed." -Tha Grimp
